This year’s Manchester Literature Festival gives special focus to the short story via the Short Weekend featuring leading exponents of the form sharing stories inspired by science, The Smiths, political exile, and above all what it is to be human, as well as the announcement of the inaugural £10,000 Manchester Fiction Prize.
